Omtura backpack

For a long time I have been eyeing on the beautiful creations from Omtura, the Israeli label that creates minimalistic and architectural looking artisanal bags from leather. I read that the designer Anton Edelshtein finds his inspiration sources from shamanism, futurism and urbanism, and that can definitely be seen on the interesting shapes and designs of the bags which almost look like something straight out of a scifi movie.

A week ago I celebrated my birthday and it seems that my wish was granted, as this beautiful grey Omtura backpack found it’s way to my home and into my heart. I’m still in a total awe about it and it’s no wonder that the bag has already gathered many fans and definitely turns heads everywhere I go. Just take a look and you will understand.

Indian summer

It seems that the Mother Earth is a little bit confused at times: It took all the way to the end of August to finally get some summer heat. This lightweight, earth toned Area di Barbara Bologna maxi dress is the perfect vessel to celebrate the transition from Indian summer to proper fall by adding a few layers when the evenings start getting colder again.

Postcards from Italy

Last year I already declared my love for the Tuscan countryside after visiting my dear friend Barbara from the label Area di Barbara Bologna. When the opportunity arose to pay another visit to her studio and the surrounding cities Florence, Pisa and Lucca, I didn’t hesistate for long. This time around I was accompanied by friends and experienced a totally new side of Florence, a city which I can wholeheartedly claim now as one of the most beautiful places in Europe. Whether it is the relaxed “dolce far niente” athmosphere, fantastic food, friendly people or the amazing surrounding nature, this is where my soul is at ease. There are not too many places left in the world that make your heart skip a beat, or rather create a calm, stress free pulse. It’s no wonder I’m already getting an itch to visit Tuscany again.

Take me back to Atlantic City

Facing now the darkest times of the year, these cold and damp shortest of days, the only reasonable thing is to get cozy under the blankets with some hot tea in one hand and a good book in the other. If there was a chance to turn back time, I would probably place myself on the streets of New York or heck, on the deserted but warm beach of Atlantic City which was our next stop after DC. Apart from the wild casinos and nightclubs (fist pump Jersey Shore style, yeah buddy!) , this city offers a beautiful seaside and taking a walk on that famous boardwalk, you can almost feel the history and the smell of bootlegged whisky around you. No Nucky Thompson and the crew at sight though; what a pity.
