On turning 30

So on Monday I turned 30; a big day for a small girl. Unlike most women, I was not afraid of this day and in fact, I took it with grace and excitement. It felt like starting a new chapter in my life: Gone is the insecurity of the 20s, student life and worries about the future. At 30, I’m still healthy and look relatively young, know how I am and what I like, got steady income, plenty of good friends around me, and live in one of the greatest cities in the whole world. 30s is the new 20s but with benefits, so really – what’s not to like?

  1. Congrats! The more closer I get to 30s, the more “young” it feels, hehe. You know like when you’re a kid, all who’s 18 seem so grown up, but when you got to 18 you knew you were still basically a kid with civil rights. That’s how I feel about getting older: you always seem to think there’s something major changes for the good or for the bad ahead, but then it’s still just you and what you do when you get there. So no point actually thinking about it too much πŸ˜€

    You look great, as always!

    1. You are so right and thank you! πŸ™‚ When I was 18, I thought that when you hit 30, your life is pretty much over. If you don’t have the house, husband, and a kid on the way, something is seriously wrong. I’m glad to notice that 30 is not that old at all, or at least, I don’t feel “old”. Better just take it day by day and not always wait for something to happen once you hit the 30, 40 or 50 mark.. Otherwise you will miss the best moments in life. πŸ™‚ I feel pretty confident about myself right now, which is much better feeling than I had at 20. Aging can be a bliss too!

  2. Happy belated birthday! I had my birthday on same day, but i turned 28. I remeber ten years ago i thought at the age of 25 i would have at least one children. I’m glad my prediction didnt come true yet πŸ˜€

  3. Congratulations! πŸ™‚ As for you turning 30 was not something to be afraid of for me. I felt (and still feel) much younger than my actual age, but the time after 20, 25 has taught me to be patient and take things as they come. I’m more confident, I know more about the world and how it works and what to do to get things the way I want them so I’d say I’m better in nearly everything than I was at 20. πŸ˜€

  4. Congrats. It’s true. I’m now 25 and I feel I’m learning a lot and also leaving all these insecurities and getting the best from my life. Learning is a treasure, and 30 is a lovely age, because you’re young and adult at the same time. Of course, you look atonishing, and I’m sure your inner is also like that.

  5. Happy Birthday! I am turning 30 this year too (next month) and I am a little scared- a little in denial… but I’ll survive. I really love your Obscur bag (and of course your boots- my dream boots!)- I need to get a long strapped bag soon πŸ™‚
