It was about time to dig these Rick Owens flap boots out of the archives of my closet. I have no idea why they have not got more wear, perhaps they are more suitable for the bizarre but laid-back clubs of Berlin than they ever were back home. Here no one looks at you like an alien, even though they could easily mistake me for one while wearing these bad boys.

When I saw these wide legged pants on one sale assistant back in Finland couple of months ago, the thought of them never left my mind. A weird hybrid between the samurai Hakama pants and a Victorian era riding skirt, they could not scream my name more. I am planning on shortening the hem with just a few centimeters, because even with my 10cm heel wedge boots, they are a tad long. Other than that, they are probably the comfiest tailored pants I have ever owned.

Last summer I had the privilege of visiting the OBSCUR showroom in Paris and see what the OBSCUR S/S12 looked like. This beautifully crafted collection featured light weight basics made of Japanese organic cotton, rustic looking Japanese linen jackets, lots of typical to OBSCUR leather goods, such as jackets with a new moldable collar and an oversize zippered bag. The designer Richard Söderberg‘s idea was to make the garments like an armor, protecting their wearer but still keep them wearable. Having tried on the garments myself, I think he succeeded spot on. OBSCUR S/S12 will become available early next year.
