In the hanging garden

My boyfriend says that the weather right now is exactly how it is during October in Southern California. Obviously we have chosen the wrong place to live in because I would kill for weather like this all fall through; Being able to wear a leather jacket with sandals is pretty much what I would call the perfect season.

Speaking of which, this Obscur leather jacket has been lurking in my closet ever since June, waiting for these perfect, end of summer days to come. When we were introduced to each other in Paris, it was love at first sight. It’s a great feeling to wear a piece of art that has been designed by a friend, making the garment much more personal and interesting – almost if it was telling a story. I really can’t wait to show you guys what the Obscur designer, Richard Söderberg, has in store for next summer but more about that soon…I promise.

Leather jacket: Obscur
Maxi skirt: Rick Owens Lilies
Cardigan: H&M
T-shirt: AA
Sandals: Haider Ackermann
Bag: All Saints
Scissor necklace: Ann Demeulemeester
Rings: Kalevala Koru

  1. oh, what a glorious jacket! exquisite! lucky you.

    • Thanks! I feel lucky indeed. I’ve been looking for a drapey jacket like this for a long time, so it was almost like destiny when we met up. :)

i totally agree agree with u – that jacket is versatile! its leather n sort of a wool lycra thing?oh and youre finally wearing the sandals u’ve been waitin/lookin for foreeeever :)

        • The front is cotton jersey, if I remember right (the jacket has no care tag). I WAS finally wearing the sandals but then the weather got too cold for them. :( Well, there is always next summer, right? :)

    you’ve got the perfect bag!

    • Thanks! It’s really handy because it’s like 2 in 1. Easy to transform it from day to night. ;)

It took me a while to understand where the jacket ands and where the cardigan begins.. :) The jacket is amazing!

    • I was not supposed to label the cardi cause it doesn’t show as much but then you can kind of see it the picture where I’m about to “fly”, so I decided to include it in there. The jacket is shaped pretty much the same way as the cardi, and I think the draping on the front it is the same length as well. :) Thanks!!!

Oh thank you! I don’t know though if they make any sheer shirts. But I believe I’ve seen some sheer pieces at the budget stores such as Weekday. I must say that I love the combination of the Haider sandals and a long skirt. It’s just perfect! I wear mine with the skirt I did myself with the slit (an innocent copycat) and I could just wear it every day. And that jacket you wear is amazing so I had to do some research on that designer, which I hadn’t heard of since now. I found out he’s swedish! Haha. And he’s apparently inspired by Ann D and some other avant garde designers. Amazing, I thought. He’s only doing menswear right? Well, he’ll start doing womenswear as well sooner or later I think, just like Damir Doma did. Pure awesomeness.

    • I’m going to Berlin in a week, I’ll be sure to check out some sheer shirts over there. Yours looked so great. :) Yes, Richard is Swedish indeed and really talented designer. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing him from his early designer days, and seeing him grow up has been an interesting journey. I’m really proud of him. :) Obscur is currently only menswear but the smaller sizes fit us ladies just fine. I’m also sure that expanding the horizons to womenswear is just a matter of time. ;)

  6. the shirt and the coat that she is wearing is too good and combined with the red color of the berry, it looks too tempting and very cool, great sense of dressing, i saw such a coat at Annie’s Online Store a few days back

    • Thanks!:) If you’re interested in Obscur leathers, check out my comment to Helen.

  7. very cool jacket :) can’t wait for more of Obscur coverage.

This has to be a dream outfit mixing all extraordinary designers!
Moreover, the maxi skirt with a leather jacket and sandals are also my kind of Fall weather ;)

    • Hehee, nicely worded out, thank you! I love when you can wear layers and leather with lighter shoes. It’s the best part of early fall I think. :)

Hieno !

Thanks for the links! I have seen their jackets on Komakino and one on farfetch – I just never saw women’s jackets, so was wondering about them.
I’ll look into the small men’s jackets ;-)

Oi, mäkin tykkään näistä kesän lopun säistä. Nahkatakki ja sandaalit, you said it! You look great as always.

    • Kiitos kovasti.

Were the sandals a size too big?

    • I ordered them in my regular size from the sales person’s recommendation and when they arrived, I noticed that they were about half a size too big. They were a sale item, so I decided to keep them anyway. It’s not noticeable when I walk in them though, because there is more pressure on the foot (when I’m sitting on that railing, there is no pressure so the foot it appears “smaller”). The size is not a problem, I had some other issues with the composition of the straps, so had to make some extra ones myself. :D

    • Thanks Meg! You know, I’m so excited to wear this jacket, now the weather here is finally allowing me do to use it. :)

    • Thanks! I love my Kalevala Koru rings, they’re always with me. :)

  16. thats the most amazing necklace I have seen in a while!!!!! Must DIY one asap! x

    • Thanks! That Ann Demeulemeester scissor necklace is my favorite and also precious because it was a gift from a loved one. :) But yeah, it would probably quite easy to DIY too. :)

  17. Thanks for letting me know! What exactly is the problem as I don’t use Opera myself so much. Google Chrome is my personal choice. ;)
